The Lisbon Cultural Agenda highlights our Autumn Immersive Cycle, marked by the exhibitions “The Beasts of Beauty” (already open and available for visiting), “The Nutcrackers” and “The BeansTalkers” (opening on Dec. 3rd), inaugurating the 360º exhibition category.
The news refers to the three exhibitions, highlighting those that will open on December 3rd: The Nutcrackers and The BeansTalkers. The Nutcrackers brings together artists Gulnar Sacoor, Tebo, Fabián Caro Román and Jaime R Ferreira under the theme of dream and spirituality. The BeansTalkers is an exhibition dedicated to tradition that brings together artworks by artists Vimoc, Cecília Acevedo and Carlos Teixeira. The exhibition emphasizes the Golden Edition, by the Vimoc duo from the city of Porto, a series of illustrations on the beauty of nature and urban architecture. In this series, the artists seek to recover the Portuguese tradition of the application of gilded woodcarving, combining the dynamic morphology of the gold leaf with the raised hand drawing.
The months of November and December are full of gifts. A different way to enjoy the artistic experience is coming. We mark the autumn cycle and the arrival of winter with three interactive exhibitions: ‘The Beasts of Beauty’, ‘The Nutcrackers’ and ‘The BeansTalkers’.
The São Rafael Galleries are pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition “The Beasts of Beauty” on the 19th November. This exhibition brings together in an immersive and interactive scenery three prominent contemporary artists, being them: Catarina Diaz, José A. Faraco and Hossam Dirar. An exhibition that intends to be a hymn to contemporaneity and unites sensorial and experiential design with images of “dream worlds” of fashion and everyday life, between the real and the imaginary, bringing the naturalization and exaltation of female beauty into dialogue. The Beasts of Beauty aims to celebrate the female figure, in her creative, autonomous power, with a focus on her strength and spiritual dimension.
Also, on December 3rd, we opened the exhibitions “The Nutcrackers” and “The BeansTalkers“, highlighting the artists Gulnar Sacoor, Tebo, Fabián Caro Román, Jaime R Ferreira, Vimoc, Cecília Acevedo and Carlos Teixeira.
The exhibitions can be visited on our website from the days mentioned above and will be on permanent exhibition.

The Chilean newspaper Diario Angamos highlights an article on artist Fabián Caro Román. Alejandro Canseco-Jerez B, critic and emeritus professor at the University of Lorraine, France, affirmes that one of the most relevant features of Fabián Caro Román’s work is the poetic reverie framed in a geometric rigor from where anatomies and robotic-inspired morphologies flash and are humanized in suggestive postures: “And so, by means of this plastic transgression, he manipulates shapes and figures, assigning them a “sureness” entangled in metaphysical scenarios ”, concludes the critic.See more about this artist >

The exhibition will be broadcast live at 9 pm on the galleries’ official platforms (facebook.com/galeriassaorafael and www.galeriassaorafael.com) and will close with a live-streaming presentation of the theater show Não Kahlo, about the life and work of the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo , signed by D. Mona Productions. The exhibition is free and open to the general public.
In this Virtual Exhibition, whose name pays homage to the famous Salvador Dalí’s muse – Gala Dalí -, several collections will be highlighted: the Dialogos collection, by Gulnar Sacoor, interpreted as a fusion between Modrian and Rothko, highlighting the myriad of colors and realistic imagery of minimalist shapes and infinite landscapes, between mystery and spirituality; The collection Afetos, by the artist João Freire, which seeks, through extreme sensitivity, to express the ties that unite parents and children since birth; And the collections Ruralidades e Expressões Coloridas, by artist Carlos Teixeira, which, in a vivid, raw and striking way, portrays the faces of marginality and rurality and confronts us with a perception of what Realism can mean in the 20th century.
The exhibition also includes works by the Chilean artist Fabián Caro Román, with a focus on painting, muralism, sculpture and ceramics. The works to be presented reveal the influence of the artist’s education in architecture and resort to the theme of dreams and the unconscious, portraying the human body in strength, through metaphysical and magical faces and body expressions, with a focus on surrealist modeling of the female body; And by the Andalusian artist José A. Faraco Macias, who makes us relive the rigor of anatomical detail and bodily expressiveness through sculpture and a look at gender diversity and the main social transformations that occur in the social image of the naked body. Among the artists represented in the exhibition are Jaime R Ferreira, Luís Liberato, Leonor Trindade Sousa, António Azenha, Amélia Monteiro and the young artist from Coimbra, Sara Seabra. The exhibition will exhibit around 90 artworks by established and emerging artists.
