The months of November and December are full of gifts. A different way to enjoy the artistic experience is coming. We mark the autumn cycle and the arrival of winter with three interactive exhibitions: ‘The Beasts of Beauty’, ‘The Nutcrackers’ and ‘The BeansTalkers’.

The Beasts of Beauty aims to celebrate the female figure, in her creative, autonomous power, with a focus on her strength and spiritual dimension.

REPORT FROM THE NEWSPAPER DIARIO ANGAMOS HIGHLIGHTS FABIÁN CARO ROMÁN

The Chilean newspaper Diario Angamos highlights an article on artist Fabián Caro Román. Alejandro Canseco-Jerez B, critic and emeritus professor at the University of Lorraine, France, affirmes that one of the most relevant features of Fabián Caro Román’s work is the poetic reverie framed in a geometric rigor from where anatomies and robotic-inspired morphologies flash and are humanized in suggestive postures: “And so, by means of this plastic transgression, he manipulates shapes and figures, assigning them a “sureness” entangled in metaphysical scenarios ”, concludes the critic.

LAUNCH OF THE “INFORMATION” COLLECTION

We mark the International Press Freedom Day, on May 3rd, 2021, with the launch of the “Information” series, our first collection in collage and mixed technique, by the young artist Rodolfo M. Costa. The collection is now available on our platform www.galeriassaorafael.com.

Rodolfo M. Costa is a young artist who lives in Fuseta, Algarve. He studied sculpture in Fine Arts in the city of Lisbon, where he acquired skills in wood production. After his training, he moved to Berlin, where he worked as a carpenter and captured the Kunstmeile spirit of the Berlin Wall (“the art mile”). His journey resulted in the exploration of new approaches such as tattooing, resin, digital drawing and editing, as well as the creation of a series of 18 frames sealed in resin. His first exhibition was entitled “Collage of collages” at Artesis Galeria in Tavira. Rodolfo captures fragments of a vandalized fantasy dimension and drags them into our reality, exploring themes such as graffiti, information, advertising, multiculturalism and consumerism.

GALA INVITATION – Opening and Virtual Exhibition

The Collective Exhibition GALA will be presented on the 2nd of April, promoted by Galerias São Rafael. The exhibition will be broadcast live at 9 pm on the galleries’ official platforms (facebook.com/galeriassaorafael and www.galeriassaorafael.com) and will close with a live-streaming presentation of the theater show Não Kahlo, about the life and work of the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo , signed by D. Mona Productions. The exhibition is free and open to the general public.
In this Virtual Exhibition, whose name pays homage to the famous Salvador Dalí’s muse – Gala Dalí -, several collections will be highlighted: the Dialogos collection, by Gulnar Sacoor, interpreted as a fusion between Modrian and Rothko, highlighting the myriad of colors and realistic imagery of minimalist shapes and infinite landscapes, between mystery and spirituality; The collection Afetos, by the artist João Freire, which seeks, through extreme sensitivity, to express the ties that unite parents and children since birth; And the collections Ruralidades e Expressões Coloridas, by artist Carlos Teixeira, which, in a vivid, raw and striking way, portrays the faces of marginality and rurality and confronts us with a perception of what Realism can mean in the 20th century.
The exhibition also includes works by the Chilean artist Fabián Caro Román, with a focus on painting, muralism, sculpture and ceramics. The works to be presented reveal the influence of the artist’s education in architecture and resort to the theme of dreams and the unconscious, portraying the human body in strength, through metaphysical and magical faces and body expressions, with a focus on surrealist modeling of the female body; And by the Andalusian artist José A. Faraco Macias, who makes us relive the rigor of anatomical detail and bodily expressiveness through sculpture and a look at gender diversity and the main social transformations that occur in the social image of the naked body. Among the artists represented in the exhibition are Jaime R Ferreira, Luís Liberato, Leonor Trindade Sousa, António Azenha, Amélia Monteiro and the young artist from Coimbra, Sara Seabra. The exhibition will exhibit around 90 artworks by established and emerging artists.
